Pharmacy and Compounded Medication Disclosure
BioVital partners with multiple state-licensed 503A compounding pharmacies to fulfill patient prescriptions. The specific pharmacy utilized may vary based on product availability, provider discretion, patient needs, state regulations, and other operational considerations.
Prescription Requirement
All medications prescribed through BioVital are dispensed only pursuant to a valid prescription issued by a licensed healthcare provider following an appropriate medical evaluation. BioVital conducts due diligence when selecting pharmacy partners and works with pharmacies that maintain applicable state licensure and regulatory requirements for compounded medications.
Quality Assurance
In addition, BioVital seeks to work with pharmacy partners that employ quality assurance measures, which may include potency testing, sterility testing (when applicable), ingredient verification, and independent laboratory analysis. However, testing methodologies, quality assurance processes, and verification procedures may vary by pharmacy and product.
FDA Disclosure
Compounded medications are not reviewed or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for safety, effectiveness, or quality in the same manner as commercially manufactured drugs. Patients should discuss any questions regarding their medications, including formulation, ingredients, risks, benefits, and alternatives, with their prescribing healthcare provider and dispensing pharmacy.
Limitation of Responsibility
BioVital does not manufacture medications and is not responsible for the compounding, testing, labeling, or dispensing of prescriptions. Responsibility for the preparation and dispensing of compounded medications rests with the licensed dispensing pharmacy.
Pharmacy and Product Variability
By utilizing BioVital’s services, patients acknowledge and understand that the pharmacy fulfilling their prescription may change from time to time and that compounded medications may vary in appearance, packaging, concentration, or other non-clinical characteristics depending on the dispensing pharmacy and provider-prescribed formulation.
